Obituary for Ronald Hal Propst
Mr. Ronald Hal Propst, 87, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 at home. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 29, 2016 at Forest Lawn East Cemetery.
Mr. Propst was born on June 26, 1928 in Concord, NC, son of the late Floyd and Hattie Propst. In addition to his parents, his wife Madge King Propst and his daughter Margaret Propst Matkins also preceded him in passing.
Mr. Propst proudly served in the Navy during WWII and served in the Army in Korea during the Korean Conflict. He retired from New England Mutual Life Insurance Company as a Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He was the past President of the Charlotte Chapter of the National Association of Accountants and past President of Windsor Park Swim & Racquet Club.
Survivors include his sister Joyce Bentley; his children Markus F. Propst and wife Nancy Thomas, Mary L. Propst, and Ronald T. Propst and wife Maria; grandchildren Michael Propst and wife Debbie, Caitlin Ollis and husband Nathan, Hayden Dunn and husband Drew, Nathan, Ben, and Ledo James Propst; great-grandchildren Julianna and Parker Ollis and Charlotte and Henry Propst.
Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Home.
