Mr. Robert Lee "Pete" Rascoe
BURLINGTON — Mr. Robert Lee "Pete" Rascoe , 90, died Friday, January 4, 2008, at The Village at Brookwood.
Born in Caswell County, he was retired from Leon Gilliam Hardware. He was a member of Union Ridge Christian Church where he was a former deacon and a member of the men’s Sunday school class and the Hustler’s Class. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-45 with the rank of corporal when he was discharged. He was a member of the Burlington Civitan Club for 50 years and was Civitan of the Year in 1991.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth P. Rascoe of the home; sister, Margaret R. Mathis of Landrum, S.C.; brother, Jack M. Rascoe of Williamsburg, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Junious and Mary Cantrell Rascoe ; sister, Mary Frances Wood; and brothers, J. Horace Rascoe and James "Mike" Rascoe .
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 6, 2008, at Union Ridge Christian Church with the Rev. Dan Ficklin officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. in the church fellowship hall prior to the service. Other times they will be at The Village at Brookwood.
