Alson Eugene "Gene" Moser
January 13, 1939 ~ September 24, 2021 (age 82)
Mr. Alson Eugene “Gene” Moser, 82, of Burlington, passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at his home.
A native of Alamance County, Mr. Moser was the husband of the late Mary Duckworth “Jal” Moser and the son of the late Gerry and Flora Moser.
Gene worked in maintenance his entire career retiring from GKN. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church.
He loved woodworking and fixing hit and miss engines.
Mr. Moser is survived by his daughter, Kim Phillippie (Larry), of Graham; his son, Mike Moser (Luellen), of Burlington; eight grandchildren, Kenneth Phillippie (Kim), Beth Rumley (Chad), Brent Hall (Peter), Jordan Hall (Sarah), Derrick Phillippie, Jessica P. Gwaltney (Brandon) Shelton Moser, Morgan Moser; two great-grandchildren, Everett Rumley and Josie Phillippie.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Moser was preceded in death by a son, Jeff Moser and three sisters, Sarah Totten Hall, Lucille Layell and Emily Gurkin.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 11:45 to 12:45 PM at Antioch Baptist Church.
The funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Steve Loy and Rev. Uston McKenzie officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of AuthoraCare Hospice, and a special thank you to Wilma Cochran, Sherry Brooks and Kerry Holt for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Mr. Moser and his family during his illness.
