John H. Whitlatch Jr.
BURLINGTON — Mr. John H. Whitlatch Jr., 62, of 2714 West Front Street, C6, Burlington, died at Beacon Place in Greensboro on Monday, August 24, 2009 at 10:15 a.m., following an extended illness.
A native of Petersburg, Va., he was the husband of Janice MatkinsWhitlatch and the son of John H. Whitlatch Sr. and Elizabeth Teague Whitlatch, all surviving. He was President of Matkins Auto Glass Inc. and past president of the National Glass Association. Mr. Whitlatch was a former board member of the YMCA and past president and member of the Alamance Country Club. He was a member of Front Street United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife of the home and parents of Charlotte, survivors include two sons, Jason Whitlatch and wife Lindsey of Greensboro and Jonathan Whitlatch and wife Molly of Gibsonville; two grandchildren, Cate and Sam; one sister, Lewana Ratliff and husband Donald of Charlotte; a niece, Kelly Davis and husband Yates of Charlotte; and a nephew, Kevin Ratliff and wife Emily of Charlotte.
A memorial service will be conducted at Front Street United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Marshall Old. A private graveside service will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery.
The family will greet friends following the memorial service in the Heritage Room at Front Street United Methodist Church. At other times they will be at the residence.
