BURLINGTON - Mrs. Mary Eleanor Thompson, 93, of Burlington, died Thursday, November 4, 2021 at her home.
A native of Guilford County, Mrs. Thompson was the wife of the late Edmund L. “Toot” Thompson and the daughter of the late A.B. Swink and the lateAnnie Brown Swink.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of Bethany Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Lora T. Stutts and her husband, Roger, of Burlington; two grandchildren, Sarah Burton Snyder and her husband, Phillip and Jennifer Burton Brannock and her husband, Brian, all of Burlington; a step-granddaughter, Tracey Beckom, of Burlington; four great-grandchildren, Presley Snyder, Porter Snyder, Jefferson Brannock and Mattie Brannock; a sister, Lovenia Parrish of Burlington; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her brother, Robert F. Swink.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 7, from 2:00 until 3:00 PM at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Graham. When not at the funeral home, the family will be at the residence, 2731 Kingsbury Ct., Burlington.
The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the Rich and Thompson Chapel. Burial will be in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mrs. Thompson’s caregiver, Pamela Farrington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethany Presbyterian Church, 1500 S. Main Street, Graham, NC 27253.
