Diane Hughes Norblad
Diane Hughes Cheek Norblad, 75, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Alamance Regional Medical Center after several years of failing health.
A native of Alamance County, she was born July 21, 1949 to the late Winfred Hughes Cheek and Bertha Inez Macomson Phillips and was the wife of the late Albin W. Norblad.
Diane moved to the west coast when she was in her early twenties, and settled in Washington State and Oregon. She made many friends there, but missed home, and came back to NC in 2000. Her favorite activities were gardening, decorating, playing the piano and singing. She had a beautiful voice, and sang her first solo at the age of 4. She was also the piano player for Stony Creek Church for many years.
Survivors include her daughter, Shannon Hall; granddaughter, Sarah Hill (Reece), Audrey Blackburn (Angel), Jane Johnson; great grandchildren, Monti Arango Blackburn, Viggo Arango Blackburn and a brother, Daniel Ward Cheek (Teresa).
