Norma Robertson Smith
Mrs. Norma Robertson Smith, 88, of Graham passed away at her residence on Monday, October 21, 2019 at 11:20 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late S. Banks Smith and the daughter of Willie Bruce Robertson and Swannie Isley Robertson, both deceased. Mrs. Smith retired from Western Electric/Lucent Technologies. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham and a former member of St. Mark’s Church. She was also a member of the ABWA, CWA and Telephone Pioneers of America.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Smith King and husband Mark of Burlington; son, Jerry B. Smith and wife Robin Cox Smith of Mebane; four grandchildren, Dr. Lauren Smith Alderman and husband Casey, Allison Smith, Sara King and SSGT Kelsey King; three great-grandsons, Princeton Joseph, Asher King and Noah King; sister, Betty Robertson Murray of Burlington; brother-in-law, Elton Vaughn; and two sistersin-law, Mildred S. Robertson and Jean W. Smith.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Saturday, October 26, 2019 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
The funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Graham on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. by Rev. Chris Howe, Rev. Shannon Hall and Rev. Don Pegg. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina, P.O. Box 14608, Greensboro, NC 27415-4608; Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215; or the First Baptist Church of Graham, P.O. Box 779, Graham, NC 27253.
