Linda Kay Shoe Williams, “Aunt Kay”, 69, of Liberty, died Friday at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell.

A native of Fort Benning, GA, Linda was the wife of Billy Tarrell Williams, who survives and the daughter of Raymond Browning Shoe and Thelma Bell Shoe, both deceased.

She retired from the Guilford County School System as a bus driver and later worked at Jack’s BBQ in Gibsonville. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Kimesville and attended Broken Chains Biker Church. Through her many years as a bus driver and involvement in the community, “Aunt Kay” shared a special bond with the many children she came into contact with and they were drawn to her grace and love for them all.

In addition to her husband Billy, she was survived by her sons; Matthew Tarrell Williams of Liberty, Joshua Allen Williams, of the home; sisters; Judy Shoe Allison (George) of Mebane; Elizabeth “Beth” Shoe Horner (Eddie), of Cedar Grove and a brother, Kenneth Allen Shoe; and a granddaughter, Hannah Marie Williams and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom she dearly loved.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Declan Eli Williams.

A celebration service of Linda’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/28,2020 at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington, prior to the service on Tuesday, from 11:30 am until 12:45 pm.
