Willard Lee “Bull” Wrenn


    BURLINGTON — Mr. Willard Lee “Bull” Wrenn, 78, of 214 Willow Avenue, Burlington died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 8:05 p.m. following six years failing health.
    A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of Callie Mitchell Wrenn, who survives and the son of Allie David Wrenn and Alma Shelton Wrenn, both deceased. He was a Golden Gloves Boxing Champion in his youth. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired brick mason. Bull was a former member of the Burlington Moose Lodge and an avid NASCAR fan.
    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include four sons, Billy Wrenn and wife Martha of Red Oak, Iowa, Phillip Wrenn of Richmond, Va., David Wrenn of Jacksonville, Fla. and Joe Wrenn and wife Melody of Mebane; two sisters, Theda Vancil and Barbara Wood, both of Burlington; one brother, Donnie Wrenn of Pinehurst; seven grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Wrenn and David Wrenn.
    The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson
Chapel in Burlington on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 11 a.m. by Dr. Terry Farmer. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence of a son, Joe and Melody Wrenn, 2741 N.C. 119 North, Mebane, N.C.
    Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, N.C. 27407.
