Mary Louise Kivett Qualls Graves
   BURLINGTON, N.C. — Mary Louise Kivett Qualls Graves, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was a native of Alamance County and the daughter of Thomas Henderson Kivett and Lorah Isley Kivett.

   Mary was a longtime member of Macedonia Lutheran Church. She was part owner of The State Theatre for many years and also managed the Paramount Theatre for several years. Mary worked over 20 years with the Alamance County School System before retiring. She participated in Field Trials with Labrador Retrievers for several years. Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

   Survivors include her daughter, Lou Kinney and her husband Richard, of Hillsborough; and a son, Ruffin Qualls and his wife Linda, of Burlington; grandchildren, Kristin Kinney, Ian Kinney and Evelyn Qualls Rice and her husband Kevin.

   She was preceded in death by her first husband, Everette Charles Qualls Jr. and her former husband, James Harold Graves Sr.; parents; sisters, Anne Crane and Edna Murray.

   A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday , April 17, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Macedonia Lutheran Church by the Rev. Stephen Rust and the burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:45 until 2:45 p.m. prior to the service in the church parlor.

   Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of the arrangements.
