SILER CITY - Mr. Russell Henry Lawson, 74, of 2968 Old 421 North, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Chatham Hospital. A native of Greenville, S.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Sue Herndon Lawson, who survives[ a native of Burlington]. He attended Brevard College and retired in 1980 from Kellwood Corp. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II and was a member of Siler City Presbyterian Church, where he was an elder and a former member of the church choir. Survivors other than his wife include two daughters, Ms. Susan L. Bussey of Atlanta and Ms. Sherri L. Noftsinger of Acworth, Ga.; a sister, Ms. Margaret L. Cochran of Rome, Ga.; and four grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Siler City Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Sam McGregor.
