December 24, 1935 ~ October 17, 2024 (age 88)
Peggy Gerringer Whitaker, 88, of Gibsonville, went home peacefully to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 17, 2024 following months of failing health. She was the wife of 64 years to the late Wesley “Ott” Whitaker and the daughter of late Russell Gerringer and late Myrtle Gerringer.
Peggy was a homemaker and a fantastic cook. She had a love for decorating and flowers. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her generous heart and sweet smile will be missed by all who knew her.
Peggy is survived by her daughter Vicky Fogleman (Gary) of Whitsett, son, Jerry Whitaker (Bonnie) of Gibsonville; 3 grandchildren, Jason Fogleman (Jennifer), Justin Whitaker (Carly) and Casey McVey (Clarkie); 7 great-grandchildren whom she absolutely adored and called her kids, Carter McVey, Ciara McVey, Joey Fogleman, Jamey Fogleman, Gabe Oberg, Hayden George and Emersyn Alves; and sister, Wilma Dawson.
A service to celebrate her life will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Urgent Church in McLeansville, North Carolina. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Urgent Church.
