ELON COLLEGE - Mr. Charles Ray "Zip" Hensley, 58, of 2551 Bridgeview Road, died at 12:07 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2000, at Alamance Regional Medical Center after one week of declining health.
A native of Ossipee, he was the son of the Mr. Jesse Banner and Mrs. Lucy Jarrett Hensley, both deceased, who survives. He was employed with the Burlington Parks and Recreation Department. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a Baptist.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Dwight David Hensley of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Opal Lane and Mrs. Hilda Cox, both of Burlington; Mrs. Judith Canady of Erwin and Mrs. Sue King of Elon College; three brothers, Mr. Howard Hensley, Mr. Bobby Hensley and Mr. David Hensley, all of Elon College; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Mr. J.B. Hensley. 470, Charles Ray “Zip” Hensley
