PAWLEYS ISLAND, SC/GRAHAM, NC -
- Mr. James Shelton Long, 52, of 149 Shore Rush Drive, Pawleys Island SC, formerly of Graham, NC, died Saturday, August 2, 2008, at Waccamaw Hospital, South Carolina.
Mr. Long was a caring, calm, gentle person who always had a kind heart toward others. He enjoyed surf fishing and playing golf. He was evolved with little league sports with his children. He was a special loving father.
Survivors: daughter, Mackenzie Long, of Graham; sons, Justin Long and wife, Meagan of Graham, Aaron Long, of Graham; wife of 24 years, Denise Long, of Graham; father, Wade Long of Wilmington, NC; sisters, Ramona Stocks and husband, Ronnie of Oak Island, NC, Kathy Lewis and husband, Doug of Faison, NC; brothers, Donnie Long and wife, Denise of Carolina Beach, Kelly Long of Whiteville, NC, Earl Evans and wife, Diane of Raleigh. He was a grandfather to be.
James was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Batten Long.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, August 7, 2008, at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Rev. Bob Felts will officiate.
Visitation will follow the memorial service on Thursday at McClure Funeral Home and other times at the residence of the family at 209 N. Melville St, Graham, NC.
