Obituary Online notes for Neva Ellen SUMMERS
Funeral services for Mrs. Neva Ellen Rittmiller, 86, of Weiser, formerly of
Nampa, who went to be with her Lord, Thursday, Jan. 3, 1991, at her home, will
be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel, Nampa. The
Rev, Duane C. Palser, pastor of the Nampa First Assembly of God Church will
officiate. Interment will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Neva was born on Aug. 20, 1904, at Oaks, Okla., to Cal and Lettie Summers.
She was reared and educated in Oklahoma. After her schooling she married
Charles L. Harper at Loveland, Colo., in 1922. To this union was born one girl,
Faye, and three boys, Charles, John and Hal. They later moved to Idaho in 1928,
and settled in the Kuna and Nampa area. Neva was an LPN and took care of
patients privately and also worked for many years in a nursing home in Nampa.
She later married Fred R. Rittmiller on Oct. 10, 1969, in Nampa, where they made
their home. Fred died on Feb. 5, 1984. She moved to Weiser last month to make
her home. Neva was a member of the Nampa First Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Melvin Lawrence of
Tulsa. Okla.; one son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Lila Harper of Weiser; one
sister, Evelyn Jerome of Boise; one brother, Everett Summers of Sacramento,
Calif.; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two
brothers, one son, one grandson and one granddaughter.
