GIBSONVILLE — Mr. Maurice Levi Walker Jr., 66, of Gibsonville died at his residence on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at 11:49 p.m.
A native of Newport News, Va., he was the husband of Naureen Gerner Walker, who survives and the son of Mary Louise Hinton Walker and Maurice Levi Walker Sr. and stepmother Elda Huffines Walker, all deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and owned his own custom metal fabrication business. He was a lifelong fisherman and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2972 in Gibsonville.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his children, Maurice Levi “Trip” Walker III and wife Tammy, Hollie Walker Troy and husband Jeff, Justin Heath Gerner, Forrest Dalton Walker and wife Lauren and Madison Brooke Gerner; four grandchildren, Levi and Chase Walker and Kaitlin Troy and Grayson Walker; four sisters, Becky Roberts and husband Fred, Nancy Shephard, Betty Lou Mattherly and Bennie O’Kelley; Aunt, Josephine Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m.attheRich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2012 by the Rev. Bruce Church with the family receiving friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
