Burlington – Nina Jean Crumpton Greeson, 85, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 31, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 14, 1936 in Alamance County to the late Onnie Odell Crumpton and Grace Rebecca Shelton, and was the wife of 66 years to Claude Thomas “Tommy” Greeson of the home.
Jean formerly worked at JP Stevens and retired from Alamance Regional Medical Center in the insurance department. She was a member of Brick Church, she enjoyed reading, cooking and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors other than her husband, Tommy Greeson, include her children, David Greeson and wife Sylvia, Cheryl Sexton and husband Marty, Jeff Greeson and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Ashley Brown and husband Justin, Amanda Sexton, Stephen Greeson and wife Elizabeth, Maria Greeson, Hannah Decker and husband Nick, Kayla Pollard and husband Darius; eight great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; a sister, Linda Bryant and husband Bernie; brothers, Ralph Crumpton and Jim Crumpton and wife Shirley; several nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Bill and Faye Southern, Ed and Delores LaHanka and Marie Oakes.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Sonny Crumpton and Fay Dean Lee; and a sister-in-law, Charlotte Crumpton.
The funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Sunday, April 3, 2022 at Brick Church by Rev. Geoff LaLone with the burial to following in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm to 2:45pm Sunday prior to the service. The public is welcome to stop by Lowe Funeral Home & Crematory Saturday from 12pm to 5pm to pay your respects and watch the video.
