Richard E. Gibbs, Jr., 67, of Memphis, died at Methodist University Hospital on Wednesday, November 4, 2009.
He was a graduate of Mississippi State University and an employee of Union Planters for 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Doris E. Gibbs, of Memphis; three sons, Michael Faulkner of Memphis; Richard E. Gibbs, III of Huntsville, AL and Thomas Gibbs of Maryville, TN; two daughters, Lea Lunsford of Maryville, TN and Diane Herron of Orange Park, FL.
His legacy of being a loving and caring grandfather is forever remembered by his eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, November 6, at Forest Hill East Funeral Home with services at 2 p.m., Saturday. Interment will be in Forest Hill East Cemetery. Forest Hill East Cemetery (Published in The Commercial Appeal on November 6, 2009) 470, Richard Ellis Gibbs Jr.
