Iva Alyse Brown Tickle (Alyse), 103, of Burlington passed away at Coble Creek Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center at Twin Lakes Community on Thursday, November 23, 2023.
A native of Alamance County, she was the daughter of Russell Guy Brown, Sr. and Mary Adams Brown, both deceased. She was a retired employee of the Department of Social Services and a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Linda Tickle Van Fleet of Burlington, Rena Tickle Crumpler of Elon, Sylvia Tickle Harris and husband Charles of Burlington, and Bette Tickle Anderson of Greer, SC; daughter-in-law, Brenda Paris Tickle of Haw River; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-step-grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Wayne Tickle; grandson, John Christopher “Chris” Crumpler; sisters, LaMonna Brown Matkins, Louise Brown Davis, and Winifred Brown Matkins; brothers, R.G. Brown, Jr., and Fred Brown; and two sons-in-law, Les Van Fleet and Dale Anderson.
The funeral service will be conducted at Macedonia Lutheran Church on Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. by Pastor Jerome Cloninger with a reception to follow in the Lutheran Hall at the church. Other times the family will be at the home of the daughter, Linda Tickle Van Fleet.
