Mr. Les Gene Van Fleet, 80, of Burlington, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at The Twin Lakes Community.

Lester (Les) Gene Van Fleet

Mr. Lester (Les) Gene Van Fleet, 80, of Burlington, died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at Twin Lakes Coble Creek Healthcare Center.
A native of Auburn, New York, Mr. Van Fleet was the husband of Linda Carole Tickle Van Fleet and the son of the late Lester Ray Van Fleet and Helen Jurczak Van Fleet.

Mr. Van Fleet served with the United States Navy from 1958 until 1962. He retired after 37 years as an automobile mechanic with County Ford in Graham.

Mr. Van Fleet was a member of Macedonia Lutheran Church and a member of the Men of Macedonia. He enjoyed coaching Little League and wrestling.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Carole Tickle Van Fleet, of the home; two sons, Darryl Gene Van Fleet and his wife, Caryl, of Haw River and Danny Craig Van Fleet and his wife, Beth, of Elon; four grandchildren, Taylor, A.J., Max and Zane Van Fleet; two sisters, Joyce Alfred and Pat Smith, both of Port Byron, NY; three brothers, Peter Van Fleet of Port Byron, NY, Ray Van Fleet, of Weedsport, NY and Gary Van Fleet and his wife, Becca, of Port Byron, NY.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, August 8, 2019 from 6:00 until 8:00, at Rich and Thompson Funeral Service in Burlington. Other times they will be at the residence.

The funeral service will be held Friday, August 9, at 11:00 AM at Macedonia Lutheran Church. Officiating will be Pastor Richard Goeres and Vicar Julie Tonneson. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
The family request that memorials be made to Macedonia Lutheran Church, 421 W. Front Street, Burlington, NC 27215.

The family would like to thank the staff at Twin Lakes Coble Creek Healthcare and Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance Caswell for their excellent care and compassion shown to them during this time.
