Mrs. Eulala Murray Gerringer
BURLINGTON — Mrs. Eulala Murray Gerringer, 89, of Berne Village Assisted Living, 2701 Amhurst Blvd., New Bern, died at 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2000, at Berne Village Assisted Living after several years of failing health. She was formerly of N.C. 87 North, Burlington.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. Paul Bright Gerringer, and the daughter of Mr. James Henry Murray and Mrs. Nettie Allen Murray, both deceased. She was co-owner of Gerringer Service Station and a member of Shallow Ford United Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Mr. Paul Ronald Gerringer of New Bern; a sister, Mrs. Beulah Murray Tickle of Burlington; a brother, Mr. Johnnie W. Murray of Burlington; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Mr. Allan Bright Gerringer; four sisters, Ms. Hazel Metcalf, Ms. Elsie Metcalf, Ms. Alverta Pollard and Ms. Eula Wilkinson Pryor; a brother, Mr. James Murray; and a grandchild.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Rich and Thompson Chapel in Burlington by the Rev. Leslie Jolley, pastor of Shallow Ford United Church of Christ. Burial will be in Shallow Ford United Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will be at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington from 6 to 8 this evening.
