Hilda Gray DeBerry Jenkins, 74, of Roanoke Rapids passed away Saturday, October7, 2017 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill.
Hilda was born August 26, 1943 in Halifax County to the late Henry Carless DeBerry and Mary Magdalene Gerringer DeBerry. She was also preceded in death by daughter Terri Lynn Jenkins and husband, James H. Jenkins.
She was a loving wife and mother and loved her family.
She is survived by her son, Shelton M. Jenkins; her brother-in-law, Wayne Jenkins and his wife Sylvia; her sisters-in-law, Charlotte Rodwell and her husband J.B. and Ann Allsbrook all of Roanoke Rapids; three very special cousins, Lee Barber, Ann Harris both of Elon, NC and Dawn Lambert of Locust, NC; a close friend, Verla Jenkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in the chapel of Hockaday Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. D. A. Leonard and Rev. Sue Owens officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 – 8:30 P.M. Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the funeral home. 470, Hilda Gray DeBerry Jenkins
