Pamela Perry Obituary

Pamela Gourley Perry Sept. 27, 1948 - Oct. 10, 2005 Pamela Gourley Perry graced the world with her kindness and selfless giving. Pamela was an adored wife, beloved mother and cherished daughter and sister. She was a loyal friend was deeply loved by the many people whose lives she touched. Pam was born in Burlington, North Carolina.

A graduate of Meredith College with a degree in history, Pam taught elementary school for 12 years before dedicating herself to raising her three children. She has been a teacher's aide at Happy Valley Elementary School for the last five years and was known for her affection, kindness, humor, and compassion for young children.

An ardent walker of reservoir and beach, Pam embraced the beautiful and glorious in life. She was a tireless volunteer to the schools her children attended, Happy Valley Elementary, Stanley Intermediate and Acalanes High School. She was an enthusiastic member of the National Charity League. In addition she was an astute collector of American folk art and early American antiques. A gracious southern lady with limitless charm and elegance, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Pam is survived by her husband, Herbert Wayne Perry; children, Courtney, Keating and Andrew; mother, Elouise Gourley; and sister, Robbin Gourley.

Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service in Pam's honor on Friday, October 21, 2005, at 3:00 pm. The service will be held at Lafayette Orinda Presbyterian Church, 49 Knox Drive, Lafayette, California.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to The Pamela Perry Memorial Fund, Lafayette Arts and Science Foundation, 3450-A Golden Gate Way, Lafayette, California 94549 (925) 299-1644.
