Frances “Lois” Alcon Phillippe
  
 GIBSONVILLE — Frances “Lois” Alcon Phillippe, 84, completed her earthly journey on Tuesday, December 1, 2015, at Alamance House in Burlington. Lois was born in Rockingham County on July 24, 1931, the fourth of 13 children to Robert and Lillie Alcon, who preceded her in death. Lois was the wife of 63 years to the late Frank Phillippe who died in 2014.
 
 Lois worked at Burlington Industries for 16 years and then as a homemaker. She and her husband, Frank, loved working in their yard, garden and creating beautiful pieces of furniture, craft items and baskets. Lois was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church and was active in its ministry as long as her health allowed.
 
 Survivors include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert (Frances), David (Sonja), Bobby (Carolyn), W.A. (Hazel), Ray (Diane) and Billy (Sue), Betty, Billie Ann and Gerry Alcon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Eula Mae (Kelly) Carter and Faye (Jim) Downes; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sister, Joyce Wyre and brothers, Henry, J.C., and Ralph Alcon.
 
 A service of remembrance will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2015, at Friedens Lutheran Church by the Rev. William Zima with inurnment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the fellowship hall following the inurnment.
 
 Lois was a gracious, humble person with a sweet smile and disposition and she will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Kecia, Cindy, Danielle and Laverne who were her special angels at Alamance House.
