Maggie Johnson Garner 


    BURLINGTON — Maggie Johnson Garner , 87, formerly of 1309 Turner St., died at the Beverly HealthCare Center in Greensboro on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2006, at 7:27 p.m. following several years of declining health.
    A native of Guilford County, she was the daughter of Jessie J. Johnson  and Lillie Lee Smith Johnson , both deceased. She was a member of Burlington-Wesleyan Church and Sunday School Class for many, many years.
    She is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Minnie Steele and her husband Alfred of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Mittie Kimball and her husband Lee of Lutz, Fla., and Mrs. Lola McDowell of Mass.; two brothers, Mr. Ted Johnson  and his wife Frances of McLeansville and Mr. Frank Johnson  of Asheboro; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lela Johnson  also of McLeansville.
    She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Connie Marie Garner ; two sisters, Jennie Ward and Dot Baity; and three brothers, James Johnson , Calvin Johnson , and Ernest Johnson .
    A graveside service will be conducted at Pine Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2007, at 11 a.m.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich and Thompson Mortuary in Burlington this evening from 4 to 6 p.m.
    Memorials may be made to Burlington-Wesleyan Church, 304 S. Anthony St., Burlington, N.C. 27215.
