NEWPORT NEWS, Va. — Jane Yarbrough Jones died unexpectedly Wednesday, March 29, 2006, at Riverside Hospital.
Jane was born August 13, 1948 in Burlington, N.C.
She graduated from Burlington High School, Atlantic Christian College, and taught elementary school in Cape Hatteras, N.C., Newport News, Va. and Burlington, N.C.
She loved teaching children. Jane was a member of Little Grove Methodist Church, Frisco, N.C. She also had a great love for the outdoors, gardening and all kinds of flowers.
Jane was preceded in death by her mother, Roan Yarbrough .
She is survived by her husband, Claude O’Brien Jones III; her son, Claude "O’Brien" Jones IV; two brothers, Warren Yarbrough and his wife, Connie, and Wayne Yarbrough and his wife, Sue; nieces and nephew, Leigh Yarbrough , Natalie and Ben Wright; and her best friend, Robin Heath.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Weymouth Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Peninsula Chapter, 870 Greenbrier Circle, Suite 404, Greenbrier Tower II, Chesapeake, Va. 23320.
