BURLINGTON

Mrs.. Lillian Walker Boswell, 91, of 3347 N.C. 62 North, died at 1 p.m. Friday, March 26, 1999, at her home after one year of failing health and a critical illness of five weeks. A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Mr. John Preston Boswell Sr. and the daughter of Mr. Levi Epson Walker and Mrs.. Ida Kernodle Walker, both deceased. She was a retired school teacher and was active with Alamance County 4-H clubs and worked with mentally retarded children. She was a lifelong member of Union Ridge United Church of Christ, where she taught Sunday school and worked with the youth fellowship. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs.. Janette Lee and Mrs.. Rachel Page, both of Burlington; two sons, Mr. John Preston Boswell Jr.. of Burlington and Mr. Charles S. Boswell of Kinston; two sisters, Mrs.. Alice Ivey of Chapel Hill and Mrs.. Frances Campbell of Durham; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ms. Catherine Boswell; three sisters, Ms. Bruce Walker, Mrs.. Mamie Swanson and Mrs.. Estelle Tickel; and three brothers, Mr. Claude Walker, Mr. Robert Walker and Mr. Thomas Walker. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at Union Ridge United Church of Christ by the Rev. Phil Hardy and the Rev. John Settlemyre. The body will be placed in the church two hours before the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will be at the church fellowship center after the service. Memorials may be made to the Union Ridge United Church of Christ Chancel Choir. McClure Funeral Service is in charge of arrangments. 241
