SNOW CAMP — Mr. Charles Richard McBane Sr., 74, of 4326 Greenhill Road, Snow Camp, died at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill on Monday, June 6, 2011.
A native of Kokomo, Indiana, he was the husband of Martha Stacy McBane, who survives, and the son of Allen Reece McBane and Mary Stout McBane, both deceased. He was a graduate of Eli Whitney High School and retired from Gold Toe in 2000 with 45 years of service. He was of the Quaker faith and an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include his son, Charles Richard Mc-Bane Jr. of Raleigh; three sisters, Mary Catherine Myers of Graham, Evelyn Braxton of Snow Camp and Treva Newlin and husband Leonidas of Snow Camp; four brothers, Scott McBane and wife Linda, Floyd McBane and wife Gean and Dewey McBane and wife Lydia, all of Snow Camp and John McBane and wife Johnnie of Haw River; 16 nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Alice McBane and his brother, James McBane.
A graveside service will be conducted at Chatham Friends Meeting Cemetery on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. by Pastor David Hobson and Pastor Wayne Lamb.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson FuneralHomeandCrematory in Graham onWednesday from 6 to 8 p.m.
