Mr. George Alexander Fogleman


    BURLINGTON — Mr. George Alexander Fogleman, 87, of 3146 Beaver Creek Road, passed away peacefully Saturday, December 13, with his family and friends by his side at Wesley Long Hospital.
    A native of Randolph County, he was the husband of the late Gladys Ayles Huffman Fogleman and son of the late Charlie Webb Fogleman and Sally Holt Fogleman. He was retired from P. Lorillard Tobacco Co., a member of Low’s Lutheran Church and served in the Pacific Theater with the U.S. Army Infantry during WW II.
    Surviving are a son, George Vaughn Fogleman of Burlington; two brothers, Vern Fogleman of Burlington and Carl "Bucky" Fogleman and wife Virginia of Burlington; a sister, Betty Jane Harrison and husband Edmond of Burlington; four grandchildren, Lane Fogleman of Burlington, Clifton Fogleman of Burlington, Dean Fogleman and wife Angela of Burlington and Jennifer Fogleman Hughes of Greenville; nine great grandchildren; and caregiver, Charlotte Robertson. He was also preceded in death by a son, Fred Fogleman; and grandson Michael Vaughn Fogleman.
    Services will be held at 3 p.m., Tuesday, December 16, at Low’s Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dr. David Mielke and the Rev. Jill King officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral & Cremation Service in Burlington form 6 to 8 p.m., Monday evening and other times at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to Low’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 2136 Hwy 61 South, Liberty, N.C. 27298.
