James Lewis “Tootie” Eastwood
 

 
 PLEASANT GROVE - James Lewis “Tootie” Eastwood, 74, of Burlington, NC passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at his residence.
 
 A native of Caswell County, NC, he was the son of the late George Henry and Reba Ward Eastwood.
 
 He was retired from the NC DOT with numerous years of service and he was a former night watchman at Elon.
 
 He was known for being an avid farmer, as he always kept his neighbors, family and friends with fresh vegetables.
 
 He enjoyed fishing and hauling gravel or just anything that kept him outdoors. He also enjoyed collecting sea shells at the coast.
 
 He was known for always helping others over himself whatever the need may be, he was always willing to lend a hand.
 
 Survivors include his children, James Wayne Eastwood and wife Darlene and Jo Ann Eastwood; grandson, Troy Matherly and his sister, Mary Frances Smith.
 
 In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Brona Warren Eastwood, sister, Elaine Allison; and brothers, John Robert Eastwood, Steven Ray “Pete” Eastwood, and Henry Lee Eastwood.
 
 A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Burlington with the Pastor Kevin Smith officiating.
 
 Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
 
 The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham, and other times at the residence of the family.
 
 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Home of Alamance/Caswell at 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215 or to the American cancer Society at www.cancer.org or by calling 1-800-227-2345.
