JULIAN — Martha C. Clapp, 67, of 6728 Holt Store Rd. passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2008, at Alamance Regional Medical Center.
The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2008, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jerry Langley. Interment will follow at Alamance Memorial Park.
Mrs. Clapp was born August 23, 1940, in Rockingham County to the late William C. and Mary Barber Carter. Martha was a member of Triad Worship Center and the most giving wife, mother, sister, and friend that anyone will ever know. Her mission in life was to take care of others and she did that unselfishly, she took care of others before herself. Words can never express how much her presence on this earth will be missed.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Kenny Clapp; a son, Wayne Clapp and his wife Danette; two grandchildren, Preston Brown and Justin Brown; three sisters, Linda C. Henson of Greensboro, Shirley Brown of Greensboro, and Virginia Jeffries of Greensboro; four brothers, Cecil Carter of Orlando, Fla., Bill Carter of Orlando, Fla., George Carter of Myrtle Beach, and Lonnie Carter of Greensboro; many nieces and nephews, and a special niece and nephew, Carrie Henson and Michael Henson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Robert Carter.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory and at other times at the home.
