Mr. Arthur Sidney Minor 


    GRAHAM — Mr. Arthur Sidney Minor , 87, of 770 Kernodle Lane, passed away at Alamance Regional Medical Center at 11:43 a.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2008, after a brief illness.
    A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of 61 years to Lula Sparks Minor , who survives, and the son of the late Julius Harrison Minor  and the late Alberta Jane Terrell Minor . He retired from Western Electric and being an avid gardener, was a greenhouse wholesaler providing plants and flowers to local restaurants and businesses. He was of the Baptist faith, an ordained Baptist Minister, a pianist, a soloist and a graduate of Piedmont Bible Evening College. He also served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II.
    Other than his wife of the home, he is survived by two daughters, Cindy Minor  of Graham and Loretta Wolhar and her husband Joe of Raleigh; one son, Ronnie Minor  and his wife Sandy of Lebanon, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Cleve Minor  and his wife Michelle, Niel Minor  and his wife Rachel and Philip Minor  and his wife Amy all of Tennessee; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Annie Dare Thompson of Burlington.
    Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Bessie Mae Johnson, Myrtle Blackwell and Maude Gillespie; and three brothers, Robert Minor , Otis Minor  and Avery Minor .
    The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2008, at the Rich and Thompson Chapel in Graham by the Rev. Lamarr Mooneyham. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Tuesday morning from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
