Lula Frances Sparks Minor
   GRAHAM — Mrs. Lula Frances Sparks Minor, 87, of Graham died at the Hospice Home on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 2:55 a.m. following two weeks critical illness.

   A native of Danville, Va., she was the wife of 61 years to the late Arthur Sidney Minor and the daughter of John Thomas Sparks and Sallie Curl Sparks, both deceased. She retired from Annedeen Hosiery. Mrs. Minor was a member of TOPS Club 109 and of the Baptist faith.

   Survivors include two daughters, Cindy Minor of Graham and Loretta Wolhar of Raleigh; one son, Ronnie Minor and wife Sandy of Lebanon, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Cleve Minor and wife Michelle, Niel Minor and wife Rachel and Philip Minor and wife Amy; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Alice Turner of Graham and Peggie Bare of Goldston; one brother, John Sparks and wife Helene of Greensboro; one sister-inlaw, Annie Dare Thompson; and several nieces and nephews.

   She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mabel Bowen, Minnie Stutts and Elnora Carpenter and three brothers, Jesse “Sonny” Sparks, Joe Sparks and James Sparks.

   The funeral service will be conducted at the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Graham on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at 3 p.m. by the Rev. Lamarr Mooneyham. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery.

   The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.

   Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215 or to Friendship Center Adult Day Service, 1946 Martin Street, Burlington, N.C. 27217.

   The family would like to extend a special thanks to niece, Glenda Jenkins for her help with contacting relatives and to the staff at Alamance Regional Medical Center and the Hospice Home for the special care given to Mrs. Minor during her failing health.
