Clyde  Victor "Pete" Way Jr.


    GRAHAM — Mr. Clyde  Victor "Pete" Way Jr., 77, of Knight Court, died at Durham Regional Medical Center on Friday, January 11, 2008, at 2:45 p.m.
    A native of Orange County, he was the husband of Betty Futrell Way, who survives, and the son of Clyde  Victor Way Sr. and Daisy Payne Way, both deceased. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict as a sergeant and a former member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. He retired after 31 years as Department Chief at AT&T and was a member of the AT&T Pioneers of America. He worked with the American Cancer Society in the Laryngectomee Support Group. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Graham and the Baptist Men’s Mission Work.
    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Way and husband Gary Littell of Alpharetta, Ga.; a son, Stuart Way and wife Teressa of Snow Camp; two step-granddaughters; and one step-great-granddaughter.
    He was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine McLeod and Helen Michael.
    The funeral will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Graham on Monday, January 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. by Dr. David Kolb. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. Other times they will be at the residence.
