Burlington – Harue Holt Overman, 92, a resident of Twin Lakes for over ten years, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Guilford County to the late Charles Gilmer and Ethel Ingle Holt and was married to the late James Doyle Overman, Sr. Mrs. Overman was formerly employed by Kayser-Roth and Gilbarco. She was a member of Gibsonville United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Methodist Women.
She is survived by her son, James "Jim" Doyle (Susan) Overman, Jr. of Elizabeth City; granddaughters, Beth (Hunter) Bock of Raleigh, Janet (Brandon) Pue of Charlotte; great granddaughters, Ellie and Anna Kate Bock; sister, Ella (Dr. Jay Lawrence) Apple of Twin Lakes Community, Thelma Lowe of Gibsonville and sister-in-law, Ann Holt of Burlington. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Vera Somers and C.G. Holt.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Jonathan Marlowe. Entombment at Alamance Memorial Park Mausoleum will be private. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Overman will be available for viewing at the funeral home Thursday afternoon until 5:30 PM and Friday prior to the funeral service.
