"C.G." Charlie Gilmer Holt  Jr.


    BURLINGTON — Mr. "C.G." Charlie Gilmer Holt  Jr., 82, of 6342 N.C. 62 South, Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 10:53 p.m.
    A native of Guilford County, he was the husband of 62 years to Ann Coble Holt , who survives, and the son of Charlie Gilmer Holt  and Ethel Ingle Holt , both deceased. He was a graduate of Williams High School and Burlington Business School. He was a former purchasing agent for Shoffner Industries for 23 years. He was a member of Low’s Lutheran Church, where he was the church treasurer for 12 years, a member of the Church Council, Property Committee, Couple #2 Sunday school class (treasurer), and the But God Can Bible Class.
    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include one son, Mr. Charlie  G. Holt  III of Greensboro; and four sisters, Mrs. Vera Somers, Mrs. Harue Overman, and Mrs. Ella Apple, all of Twin Lakes Retirement Center, and Mrs. Thelma Lowe of Gibsonville.
    The funeral will be conducted at Low’s Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. David Mielke. Burial will follow in Low’s Lutheran Church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Mortuary in Burlington on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m., and at other times, they will be at the residence.
    Memorials may be made to Low’s Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 2136 N.C. 61 South, Liberty, N.C. 27298.
    The family of Mr. Holt  would like to express their gratitude to the nurses at Alamance Regional Medical Center for their kind and loving care of Mr. C. G. Holt  Jr.
