BURLINGTON — Ms. Alien Edwards Younger, 67, 510 Rudd St., passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008, at her residence. Ms. Younger was born February 27, 1941, in Randolph County, to the late Raymond Edwards and Viola Stinson Edwards. Alien was a loving mother and grandmother who cared for her family.
Survivors include a daughter, Tammy Lamm and her husband, Alvin; a son, Rodney Younger, all of Burlington; grandchildren, Candice Smith and her husband, Kevin, and Jamie Brannock and his wife, Jennifer; five great-grandchildren, Austin Smith, Ashlynne Smith, Meghan Smith, Ryan Smith, and Jordan Brannock; two sisters, Dorothy M. Black and Barbara Carol Kernodle; and a brother, Robert Wayne Edwards, all of Burlington.
Ms. Younger was preceded in death by her former husband, Lloyd Younger; and a brother, James A. Edwards.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Brian Ayers. Interment will follow at Gibsonville City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Lowe Funeral Home and Crematory, and other times at the home.
Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, N.C. 27215.
