CARLTON ‘GUS' SUMMERS

Carlton`Gus' Summers, 72, of 5 Shelburne Ct. died Oct. 26, 1997, at Wesley Long Community Hospital.
A memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Oct. 28 at Forbis & Dick North Elm St. Chapel with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
Born in Greensboro, he was a retired captain with the Greensboro Fire Dept., a member of Lees Chapel United Methodist Church, a member of Revolution Masonic Lodge 552, American Legion Post 386 and Greensboro Elks Lodge 602. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines during World War II.
Survivors include wife, Juanita H. Summers; sons, Gus H. Summers and wife, Nancy of Draper, Utah; daughters, Joyce S. Apple and husband, Gary of Greensboro, Lisa S. Ivers and husband, Edward of Charlotte; brothers, Edward Summers and Herman Summers, both of Greensboro; sisters, Frances Freeman and Billie Jean Davern, both of Greensboro; grandchildren, David Summers, Leanna S. Day and husband, Matthew, Justin Apple, Carly Ivers and Eric Ivers. 54, CARLTON ‘GUS' SUMMERS
