GREENSBORO - Juanita Hardy Summers passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013.

A 1 p.m. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2116 McKnight Mill Road, Greensboro, NC, 27405. The family will receive visitors afterwards at the church and at her home on Wednesday, March 13, from 7 to 9:00 p.m.

A native of Greensboro, Juanita had a long professional career in Human Resources with the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, Blue Bell, and BB&T. She graduated from Kings Business College.

Juanita was a faithful 18-year-long volunteer at Cone Hospital. She will be missed by friends, family, and her beloved cat, Munchkin. She loved spending time with family at holidays, birthdays, and she had a great passion for the North Carolina beaches.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Carlton "Gus" Summers, and parents Lilly and Hezekiha Hardy. She is survived by three children, Gus Summers and wife Shelle, Joyce Apple and husband Gary, Lisa Ivers and husband Edward. She is also survived by five grandchildren, David Summers, Leanna Summers-Day and husband Matthew Day, Justin Apple, Carly Ivers, Eric Ivers, and four great-grandchildren, Nicholas Day, Nathaniel Day, Macy Summers, and Ruth Summers.

Flowers are welcome, as are donations to Memorial Presbyterian Church, 2116 McKnight Mill Rd., Greensboro, NC, 27405.

Forbis and Dick North Elm Street is assisting the Summers family.
