Harvey Glen Summers
Mr. Harvey Glen Summers, 93, of Gibsonville passed away at his residence on Friday, February 28, 2020.
A native of Alamance County, he was the husband of 70 years to the late Carnell Cook Summers and the son of Charlie Zimmery Summers and Irene McPherson Summers, both deceased. Mr. Summers was a veteran of the U. S. Army Air Force. He retired from Western Electric with 42 years of service and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Elon.
Survivors include three sons, Barry G. Summers and wife Diane of Wilmington, Dana L. Summers and wife René of Burlington and Kim G. Summers and wife Wendy of Trinity; six grandchildren, Matthew Summers and wife Sarah, Kelly McCool and husband Brandon, Brent Summers and wife Jessie, Kyndal Rogers and husband Jimmy, Andrew Summers and wife Jamie and Tristan Summers; and 13 greatgrandchildren with a 14th on the way.
The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Monday, March 2, 2020 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Alamance Memorial Park at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Dr. David Durham.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Elon, 621 East Haggard Avenue, Elon, NC 27244 or to Authora Care Collective Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family would like to thank the caregivers for their dedication and devotion that they extended to Harvey.
