Susannah Walker (c. 1751 - 1837) born in Lunenburg Co., lived in Amelia Co. VA & died in Caswell Co. NC (in 1800 & 1810 Census records). Susannah Walker's 1751 birth in Lunenburg Co. VA, was some thirty-eight years prior to Nottoway County being formed in 1789. Nottoway Parish was along the Nottoway River, which ran through both Amelia County and Lunenburg County.

Susannah was the daughter of the elderly Revolutionary War patriot Thomas Walker, Jr. (1709 – 6 Jun 1793) and Elizabeth 'Betty' Ellis (c. 1720 - Bef 1798).

About 1767 Susannah married Zachariah Hooper I. (c. 1745 - Bef 1800) born in Lunenburg County They lived in Nottaway Parish located along the Nottaway River in Amelia Co. VA, in Hanover Co. VA . Three of their 4 children were born in Lunenburg County before the 4th child was born in Caswell County, NC in 1779. They settled and died Caswell Co. NC. Susannah was a wealthy woman in her own right due to her inheritance from father, Thomas Walker, Jr. 's 1792 will (Nottoway County, VA Will Book 1, "With Inventory and Accounts 1789-1802," 89).

Zachariah and Susannah Hooper had 4 children. 1. Mary Elizabeth 'Polly' Hooper (17 Apr 1768 - 3 Mar 1843) m. 5 Oct 1785 : Starling Gunn, RW (9 May 1764 - 12 Aug 1832), had 13 children; 2. Henry Hooper (1770 - 1835) m. wife unknown; had 2 children: 3. Benjamin Hooper 4 Jan 1774 - 16 Apr 1839) m. 22 Sep 1800 Nancy Henderson (1784 - 1850) had 9 children; 4. Robert Woodlief Hooper (3 Feb 1779 - 26 Apr 1853); m. 12 Apr 1802; Priscilla Henderson (1785-1841); had 8 children.

Zachariah Hooper I died before the 1800 Census, because Susannah was listed as "the head of family" and lived with her two single sons: Benjamin Hooper (age 25) and Woodlief Hooper (age 21) in 1800. In 1812-1814 Susannah Hooper and her three sons exchanged property and slaves during this three year period. Susannah Walker Hooper died in 1837.
