    BURLINGTON — Mr. Jessie William McKinney, 82, of 143 Boone Road, Burlington died at the Hospice Home on Monday, May 24, 2010 at 11:50 p.m. following four years failing health and one week critical illness.
    A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of 64 years to Emma Dabbs McKinney, who survives, and the son of Jessie Rufus McKinney and Pearl Lee Bryant McKinney, both deceased. He retired from Ametek Lamb Electric and was also a former employee of Sue Lynn Textiles. Mr. McKinney was a member of Lakeview Community Church where he was a deacon and former member of various committees of the church.
    In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two sons, Joseph Lemuel McKinney and wife Carolyn of Burlington and William Lee McKinney and wife Sue of Charlotte; one grandson, Joseph McKinney of Burlington; four sisters, Lois Oakley and husband Thurman and Jean Matherly and husband Frank, all of Burlington and Annie Ruth Perry and Ruby Talley, both of Elon; and three brothers, Willard McKinney and wife Mary Jean, Donnie McKinney, and Roy McKinney and wife Star, all of Elon.
    He was preceded in death by one sister, Luna Mae Thomas and two brothers, Robert McKinney and the Rev. James McKinney.
    The funeral service will be conducted at Lakeview Community Church on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Reid Dickens and the Rev. Gerald Sanders. Entombment will follow at the Mausoleum at Alamance Memorial Park.
    The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral and Cremation Service in Burlington on Wednesday from 6 until 8 p.m. At other times they will be at the residence.
