William “Bill” Cardella
 

 
 BURLINGTON — Mr. William “Bill” Cardella, 93, of Burlington, died at Alamance Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014, at 8:30 a.m.
 
 A native of Greenwich, Conn., he was the husband of Alma Sue Cardella, who survives, and the son of Dominic Cardella and Marguerite Cardella, both deceased.
 
 He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, serving during World War II. Bill was a mechanical engineer for AT&T. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association.
 
 In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two sons, Dominic Cardella and wife Denise of Cary and Craig Cardella and wife Jill of Cary; and three grandchildren, Allison Conway and husband Chris, Phillip Cardella and Lauren Cardella.
 
 He was preceded in death by two sisters, Rose Orlando and Ida Christiano.
 
 The funeral service will be conducted in the Rich & Thompson Chapel in Burlington on Saturday, Oct. 25, 2014, at 2 p.m. by Father Briant Cullinane, with the family receiving friends from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow in Baynes Baptist Church cemetery.
