GIBSONVILLE — Mr. Hubert L. Smith, 87, of 7183 Powerline Road, Gibsonville died at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011.
A native of Caswell County, he was the husband of Mary Frances Eastwood Smith, who survives and the son of Respus Smith and Ollie Rice Smith, both deceased. He was a retired tobacco farmer and of the Primitive Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife of the home, survivors include two daughters, Diane Smith Walker of the home and Debbie Smith Woody and husband Wendell of Graham; a son, Richard Lee Smith and wife Teresa of Haw River; a sister, Frances Smith Barrett and husband Howard of Graham; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son-inlaw, William Walker, three sisters and three brothers.
A memorial service will be conducted at a later date.
Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham is in charge of arrangements.
