Mrs. Lelia Waynick Rudd


    GREENSBORO — Mrs. Lelia Waynick Rudd, 84, went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2009, at her home.
    A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Carl Shelton officiating. Interment will immediately follow at the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
    A Guilford County native, Lelia Waynick Rudd was born March 26, 1925, to the late Johnny Henry Waynick and the late Jessie Little Waynick. Lelia was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. She married the late Harold Gray Rudd on June 27, 1947, and was a very loving and caring wife. She was a supervisor at Southern Webbing Mill where she worked for over 42 years. For the past 18 years she and Harold enjoyed an annual trip to Myrtle Beach. They made this trip each year with several couples from South Carolina, Virginia and Brown Summit.
    Lelia Waynick Rudd is survived by her sister, Magdalene Gerringer, of Burlington, and her nieces and nephews, Carolyn Gerringer, of Burlington, Roger Gerringer, of Whitsett, Darlene Evans, of Gibsonville, Jeff Evans, of Greensboro, Howard Lee Smith, of California, Priscilla Andrew, of Spring, Texas, Sarah Smith, of Greensboro and Frank Smith, of Greensboro.
    The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at the funeral home and other times at the family home.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 4635HiconeRoad,Greensboro, N.C. 27405, or Brown Summit Baptist Church, 4811 Hicone Road, Greensboro, N.C. 27405.
