Lydia Ann Haithcock Bryant, 86, formerly of Elon passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at the Twin Lakes Community following two years of declining health.

A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Walter Herman “W.H.” Bryant and the daughter of William H. Haithcock and Velma Marie Hunt Haithcock, both deceased.

Lydia was a 1957 graduate of Walter Williams High School. She retired after 34 years from Western Electric where she worked as the office secretary. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Elon and the Celestial Sunday School class. Lydia was a loving person and a friend to many. Over the years she and her husband made generous donations to many charities. She enjoyed staying active by taking plenty of walks, working in her garden, making sure her home was spotless and helping take care of her neighbor’s pug, CeeCee whom she adored. Lydia and W.H also loved to travel to different places.

She is survived by her four siblings, William “Bill” Haithcock, Bernice Williams and husband Johnny, Amy Starr and husband John, Donna Carter and husband Sterling “Bo”; and many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Carter.

A funeral service will be conducted at the First Baptist Church of Elon on Friday, March 27, 2026 at 11:00 am with the family receiving friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am prior to the service. The committal service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery in Elon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Elon, PO Box 778, Elon, NC 27244 or to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
