SNOW CAMP - Mrs. Blanche Holt Guthrie, 93, of Snow Camp, passed away at the Hospice Home on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at 11:08 a.m.
A native of Alamance County, she was the wife of the late Oliver C. “O. C.” Guthrie and the daughter of Alfred Talton Holt and Lessie Cooper Holt, both deceased.
She was a homemaker and an avid softball fan. Mrs. Guthrie was a lifelong member of 93 years of Rock Creek United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women where she was a former President and was awarded her Life Membership Pin. She served as Church Trustee, Sunday School Literature Coordinator, Bible School Director, Sunday School Teacher and former choir member.
Survivors include two daughters, Frances G. Ingold and husband Johnny of Snow Camp and Ellen G. Thomas and husband Randy of Graham; two granddaughters, Jill Ingold Edwards and husband Ryan and Ashlea Ingold Mays and husband Ryan, all of Snow Camp; two great grandchildren, Ava Grace Edwards and Ethan Edwards; a brother, D. E. Holt and wife Mary Ellen of Burlington; and a sister-inlaw, Betty Mann.
A funeral service will be conducted at Rock Creek United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 11 a.m., by Rev. Tyler Moore, Rev. Jim Folks, and Rev. Richard Booker. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Rich & Thompson Funeral Home and Crematory in Graham on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Memorials may be made to Rock Creek United Methodist Church, 7315 Mt. Hermon-Rock Creek Rd., Snow Camp, NC 27349 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215.
The family of Mrs. Guthrie would like to extend a special thank you to her care giver, Kay Thompson, the entire Hospice Team, and to the staff at Alamance Regional Cancer Center.
