Mr. Barber Died in Sallow Ford Section
     Mr. James David Barber, aged 67 years, died Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at his residence in Boon Station township, in the Shallow Ford section, following 24 hours illness from a stroke of paralysis. He was a prominent farmer of that neighborhood, where he had spent his entire life.
     He is survived by two sons, C. L. and H. L. Barber, of Route 1, Elon College, and four grandchildren.
     Funeral services wee held at Shallow Ford Christian church this afternoon at 3 o'clock by his pastor, Rev. T. J. Green, and interment made in the churchyard.
