Mrs. Ruth Ellen Randolph Kernodle, 83, of Salisbury, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Genesis Health Care.
She was born December 16, 1926, in Guilford County to the late Maggie Elizabeth Cates and Major Lee Randolph. She graduated from Gibsonville High School in Guilford County
Mrs. Kernodle was a homemaker and a member of Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by six brothers, Melvin, Osburne, Wesley, Herman, Jennings, and Tommy Randolph; and one sister, Ailene Tarvin.
Survivors include her husband of 62 years, William “Bill” Kernodle who she married May 16, 1948; one daughter, Emily Connolly and husband Roger of Wading River, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and one greatgrandson.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday
July 21, 2010, at Summersett Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Annalee Allen officiating. Burial will follow at City Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Summersett Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Coburn Memorial United Methodist Church, 901 South Church St., Salisbury, NC, 28144.
