MEBANE, N.C. — Mr. Randy Keith McBroom, 56, of Third Street, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at the Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Burlington.
He was the son of the late Marvin Grant McBroom and Shirley Hamlet McBroom and the husband of the late Lisa Barber McBroom.
Randy was a graduate of Eastern Alamance High School in 1976 and was affiliated with the First Baptist Church of Mebane. He loved being outdoors and always stayed busy, especially if he was tinkering with his El Camino.
Surviving him are his children, Nicole McBroom and Tyler McBroom, both of the home; stepsons, Brandon Barber and wife Jessica, of Ky., and Eric Barber, of Alamance, N.C.; aunt, Frances Fox, of Mebane; uncle, Robert McBroom and wife Lucy of Mebane; grandchildren, Christian Barber, Brayden Barber and Charlotte Barber.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Nellie Rice McBroom.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, in the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with Dr. Judy Butler officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, March 28, 2014, at the McClure Funeral Home in Mebane and at other times at the residence of John and Nancy Edwards, 1025 Gibson Road, Mebane, N.C. 27302.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice and Palliative Care Center of Alamance-Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
The family of Mr. McBroom would like to extend a special ‘Thank You’ to all of their friends and family who have been by their side through this tragic time.
